oil burning when cold starting

Hi guys,

A week ago, my min oil level light came on. I've checked the level and notice that it was true. So, I've added 1/2 pint I checked again and finnally add the other 1/2. The level on the stick was perfect. I drove the car 3-4 times for 150 miles total. One night, after started the car with my remote for 10min, when I came out, there was a lot of smoke around my car with a burned oil smell. I drove the car for one mile and notice no more smoke out the exhaust, I think it stopped instantly when I reved a little more than idle. Since that time, I did'nt take my car to much and this morning, the exact same thing happened when I came out... the same smoke, the same smell and it stopped after a little driving... My car is still under warranty but I want to make sure the dealer will not accord this trouble to my mods... I went 2-3 times to the dealer for warranty jobs and they never talk about my mods. Do you have any idea of what can be that problem?

as long as your dealer is cool with your mods it will be ok, i've never been lucky with my dealer

Check your coolant at the reservoir and make sure there is no oil in it. Check around the turbo for leaks, also check your intercooler pipes for excess oil. Some dealers don't make a big deal about a warranty repair on a modded car as long as the warranty fix has nothing to do with anything aftermarket. In your case you have a modded engine and a tune which pushes more psi than stock. It sure will be an uphill battle, good luck!
