getting bored of my car..im sure it would look better than the photoshop..

just to spice things up a bit until i get some real wheels...(a year or longer)

    any input??

i would do red calipers to match

yes..i know..my car..do what i want..but i just wanted to see what you guys thought

back to back comparison with current set-up (black wheels slightly different but same size)

I think you should go for it but instead of a red stripe go with a blue one and paint your calipers blue too

Re: HOME-MADE 17" time attacks (bad idea?)

being that i had 3 of the first time attack volk sets in the country, and we currently have a set on our shop car. I cant stand this "time attack" trend. Its played.

But i have to say that photoshop didnt look bad on your car. I said to myself "that doesnt look half bad". I still wouldnt risk it.

i don't think that color blue looks good at all with black wheels and especially not red pin stripes. could you maybe do this with colors that match better together? How about gunmetal and then "time-attack" it with a darker blue or gold or orange or something. Personally I'd keep them stock or maybe do gunmetal sans pinstripe, but thats just me.

How and why did a stripe around a wheel become synonomous with A time attack? As stupid as this question sounds, I'm actually quite serious.

"time attack" was the name of the wheel (I think it was a Volk) that first did the pinstripe like that, so the volk time attack is sort of credited with starting the trend and became synonomous with it...

edit: yep, it was this wheel, volk ce28n "time attack":

Aight...So I was able to find your car color and do a better Photoshop. However, the site I took this pic from put a logo up on the rear tire area, so I couldn't do the pinstripe on the back. You get the idea. I think it could look pretty good. It's more a matte black..

    ^^nope..
if youre going to go with a better scheme that will accentuate the pin stripe..our guesses are as good as yours..
but if youre doing it just to do it..try and go with a different color combo..

Re: HOME-MADE 17" time attacks (bad idea?)

I saw a white 911 last night that had matte black wheels with a white time attack stripe. It looked pretty fantastic, but I think it was because there was an overarching theme between the white stripe and the white car. I think whoever said blue stripe with blue calipers to match the blue car might be on to something.

    Maybe MOFSteel should do it!!!

Bryson, you have great taste, and this surprises me a bit - I think you should try out the matte black, but I'm with the others in that the "time attack" stripe is getting a bit played. I'd save your money and put it toward a new set of wheels instead of messing w/ the stock ones, but that's just me.

I'm still considering yanking my car apart and sending you my lights, btw!

Bryson i think if you just left them matte black the wheels would be fine. A lot of people have that look (including myself) but it looks good! lol I painted my calipers black and i think it looks really good. Not sure if you remember my car or not but just having them black makes it look real clean. I have seen others with unpainted calipers and you can see the rust and just doesnt make it look good.

But cool stuff with the photoshop a good way of being able to try things out before you actually get them.

getting creative with the center cap may be a good option. good way to add individuality but easy enough to change if you ever get tired of it.

    and a quick pshop.

If you do painted calipers, I say silver or black. If you have serious hardware behind the wheels then you can pull off flashy colors, but it just looks poser to me otherwise. If I must chose between the two though, I vote red

Wheels look good. I say paint the rest. I know the reason why the blue is different. I think it is because not that many people have it. Then you have to ask why dont many people do it. I think I know the answer

What about bronze on the calipers against the black wheel? Something I've been thinking about recently.
