Dension Ice Link with Symphony II

Posted this in the A3 section but guess it's better off here...

Having some trouble installing my Dension Ice Link plus into my A3 with Symphony II.

It worked fine on my B6 which had a Chorus unit and a 6 stacker in the glove box.

It plugs in fine to the Symphony but the stereo does not recognise it (On the Chorus, you simply pressed 'CD/CC button to turn the unit on).

However, with the Symphony having an internal stacker, pressing 'CD' simply turns it on to CD.

I heard that the car needs to be VAG'd to tell the stereo that there is an external stacker connected (the Ice Link in this case). Is this correct?

All help and advice is appreciated.

Hit CD again. You still have CD capabilities, but you have to hit it again to get it to the CD changer input. (worth a try anyways) I have an A4, but I didn't need to VAG for the symphony or the RSN-E.

That's exactly what made it work!
