[roof question] anyone here with black vinyl wrap or real cf roof?

I haven't seen any of it on this forum,
but I did see some photoshopped ones~

Just wondering if any of you out there has this??
it'd be even sweeter if it's a quartz gray!
'cause i'm thinking of doing this to my car in the process of blacking out the silver trims as well... and just want to see how that would look...

A cf roof would look amazing on an a4... you mean like the e92 m coupes? I think you would only be able to get vinyl wrap for a cf roof though

i have seen a few vinyl roof and painted roof's on here, never seen a true cf roof maybe a vinyl cf?

in the same boat with my avant, waiting til a little better weather around here, but ill be wrapping my roof/spoiler gloss black. eventually the spoiler will be sent to winston to get wrapped in cf. as for the roof, i think fake cf wrap is pretty weak, atleast i wouldnt do it to an audi, or any car i own for that matter.

if there was some hope of getting custom cf roof i would do it in a heartbeat but i dont think first you could find someone for the right $$$$$ to do it, and do it right. but who knows, maybe this thread will start something. i will post some pictures, probably in the next month of the roof once its complete.

Not sure we did the wrap and I am doing testing for my uncle/3M so $$ on this material isn't out quite yet. This material is super thin and easy to work with/doesnt leave a seam.

damn that looks pretty sweet! I love the hood/front bumper part especially, good work... now could that material also be used to cover the chrome trim pieces on the sides of the car?

I dont see why not I wrapped the outside frame of two headrest tvs earlier this week and the CF version of this fabric I used on my interior trim so it should be fine. This type of material is much better on metal than on plastic due to the surface energy properties of both materials. It takes patience and care to do it and I imagine getting it perfect would be kinda difficult if you dont know how the material responds to heat and stretching. We learned the hard way about overstretching and overheating.

With two pieces yes...one piece no it would over stretch the material and getting the corners would be impossible

The stuff they gave me is awesome...we did every single imaginable part of a Cayman so I think i can handle the shark fin....i just like the way it is with the contrast

Fidde_swe had a full CF roof made for his Widebody B6 Avant project. Last update it wasn't installed yet though. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ant-2004/page7

Point is, anything can be done if you're willing to pay for it.
