New Info on US S4 Avants

I was looking at an A4 Avant today and speaking with the Client Advisor about the upcoming S4. One of the things he told me was that at a regional meeting a few weeks ago AoA said they are reconsidering the S4 Avant for the US. There was some specific information that made the info credible. They want to have 21 variants of vehicles in the US. For example R8 V8, R8 V10, A8, A8L, A6 4.2, A6 3T, etc. It sounds like they are looking at the S4 Avant as a Halo car since that is really their history in high performance cars and what says Audi to a lot of their loyalists. Good to know that Audi is paying attention to their core customers.

The wife and I saw a new B8 Avant S-Line last weekend, and she REALLY liked it! We went to Rusnak to test them out, and she loved the space, "comfort," ride quality, etc. Since I'm kinda looking for a replacement for our SUV, the B8 Avant is definitely on my list - and now moving up (S4 preferably if this ends up true).

How is the 2.0T power wise stock?

it's very good. it's quick off the line. way snappier then my b5 1.8t or my 3.0 (manual). my wife is convinced it's quicker then the s4. it's not, but it's not that far off. it seems to run out of steam though around sixty or so which is where my car seems to really be hitting its stride.

it's a nice engine. and she's getting over 21mpg combined.

You will totally dig tuning it. I have done that to my gal's 09 A4 Sline + Milltek end of JAN + other tweaks noted on other threads. Pix to follow along with comments / impressions. It ain't my RS4 but MANY positive upsides!!

I would encourage anyone who has not called Audi to express they're dissatisfaction to call. Make the call it only takes a few minutes and they will call you back. I left a message and was called back 48 hours later. My wife and I have owned 4 S4's and currently drive a B7 S4 Avant (Him) B6 S4 (Her), once I told them how loyal our household has been they said they are taking all calls under review and that they could always change the direction.

I wanted an S4 avant 2 years ago at the time i was looking to trade my B6 3.0L and there was not one single stinkin' avant to be found in the country.

If it doesn't come, add the Stasis K04 to the 2.0T and you have more than s4 power and still 30 mpg. I think we are still waiting to here if we get a manual in the Avant!

The "no S4 Avant" plan wasn't just for intro.

It would make sense for Audi to bring the S4 Avant here since the 2.0T is the only engine offered in the Avant at this time. A Monza Silver SLine Avant with ADS is an awesome car, now imagine it with 333 supercharged hp.
