People have reused that bolt, but it is a stretch bolt. I'd just get the "kit" with the bolt. Are you doing the install yourself?

Get the bolt with it. I beleive you need a press for the install though.

Have fun...mine was seized in the hub like a mo-fo. Shop had to air hammer the thing to death to get it out.

    Re: wheel bearing question

The bearing does need to be pressed out and new bearing pressed in.

It probably is best to get new bolt with bearing. I have changed rear bearings 4 different times. My old A4, a buddies S4 and both of my rear bearings on my S4. I reused my bolts but I didnt realize it was better to get new bolt. Oh well. Hopefully they will last.

It is relatively easy to replace. Just need the right tools. There is a writeup on audiworld I think. With pics best thing to keep in mind is take the center bolt out with car on the ground. Much easier to do.

What I did was took the hub assembly off then took that to Napa or anyplace that has a machine shop with press and had them press it out and back in.

Last time I did it a month ago cost me just under 100 bucks for bearing and to have the shop press old bearing out and back in.

If you have the space Harbor Freight has press's for under $100... Could be useful for the other side.
