my setback

So after driving about 8 months with an airbag light i finally decided to get it fixed. I finally had some time, so I took it to a very reputable audi shop in So.Cal. Turns out my car has a bad air bag control module/box. I thought maybe i had a short in the harness..but i guess not...This is gonna cost me 1100.00 to fix. I bout had a heart attack. It was either fix this...so maybe the airbags might save my life one day...or put some electrical tape over the red airbag light..HAHA...(tears)

My airbag light was on in my B5 A4 when i bought it and i never fixed it since it was a common problem and i couldnt afford it. When i crashed and totalled it the airbags were fully functional. Just letting you know if you decide not to fix it.

i actually thought about that... But there still is a chance it wont deploy in an accident.. Ive been driving so long with the light that it doesnt bother me as much.. but it still bothers me...Its kinda hard to explain...

Believe me..i have thought long and hard about not fixing this.....=(

can you maybe buy a used control box and put that in? there is 2 audi's on vwvortex that are being parted out, i got a few parts from them already. you can pick it up for alot cheaper than 1100 i'm sure... just check out the audi parts classifieds for the b6 on vwvortex.com
