So it is time to upgrade my clutch. My only question is if I should also upgrade to a lower weight flywheel. I mean is a lighter flywheel really worth $400.00 ? Please help me out

It will allow the engine to be more responsive since there is less rotational weight.

Re: Question for all of you "Bigger" Turbo people

it will make it rev a little faster, but the lighter you go the bigger chance your going to have chatter.

i had an 11lb flywheel and it chattered like a mofo.. had to hold the clutch in at stoplights cause it was embaresing.

If you need a new flywheel get either the Southbend or 034 16lb steel single mass version. If yours is still good, reuse it

If you need help with a clutch and/or FW, let me know

Then I would suggest sticking with the SB 17 or 20 lbs Billet Steel flywheel. SB claims the 20 lbs will have no chatter/rattle.

26 lbs. BTW all of the clutch kits work with nearly all the light weight flywheels. So a Clutch Masters clutch will work on a SB 20 lbs flywheel. Main difference between the flywheels is how much weight is removed from the back.
