like the title says, threw a CEL and was messing with it a little and noticed this morning it was only allowing it to boost 5 PSI. now this afternoon on my way home it was spiking 15-16 and going back down to 13-11. any ideas?

well i was messing around with that general area under the hood on friday, do you think its just a bad connection?

this same thing seems to happen every time i get on it real good and then it disappears a day or so later.

Try to disconnect it from all the sides and make sure there is no debri on it, make sure all the hoses are free of dirt. clean up a bit the connector and put everything back together.

check for boost leaks with a pressure tester. if you have a boost/vacuum gauge, are you reading lower vacuum? i just recently fixed a boost/vacuum leak that i had. it was causing 10" Hg instead of 20 and 10psi spike and 7psi held rather than 13 spike and 10 held (stock programming). a semi loose or cracked hose may cause a leak one day, but on another day be sealed enough to achieve full boost a few times. if it seems like more of an electrical issue, run vag on it and check/log blocks 115 as well as 3 and 32.
