Quick Response on Turbo Kit

So i found, what i think is a pretty good deal on a AWE Turbo Kit. It k04s, smics ( no shrouds), giac software, and flashloader. Does not come with FUELING or for another 500 i can get the fueling... Is this a pretty good deal, the kit he says has a 18K on it, and he says that the turbos are in great shape? Any advice on questions i should ask him to make sure i dont get ripped off and should i get this kit?

IMO if you are getting uses turbo's look at them first hand, also check fo rshaft play. If not first hand looking at them I woul dnot buy them, as for the tune and ICs I would but turbo's are a PITA in install and you don't want to put them in an dthey blow a week later. good luck

If its really cheap then get it. K04 rebuild kits arent that expensive these days, so you might be able to get the turbo kit and rebuild the turbos while staying in your budget. This all depends on the price of the kit, though. Hell, the turbos might get to you and be fine and you not need to rebuild them...but with 18k miles it might be better to go ahead and do it while theyre out of the car. Either way, good luck on the purchase if you decide to get it!

I would explain to the buyer that no one buys turbos sight unseen and you are going to send them to be rebuilt at blouch. Use that to talk him down further on the price.

or buy everything but the turbos and buy new k04's, you'll still be out on top.

Also mention that you posted on here and AW (and do so) and that people told you that none of us with half a brain would throw used turbos in a car that requires this much work to change.

I think it is also.... i think i might get everything and hopefully the price is lowered. I was thinking the samething on the rebuild or just buying the other parts AWE SMICs and such and just going ahead and buying the new ko4s. I just wanna be stage 3 soo bad i am itching like a mo fo.

k04s for 1900 in the classifieds...buy everything else from the guy in Bodymore.

For 3500 it is a bit pricey.

I sold my used K04's for 1000. The highest I would have maybe got was 1300.

Used SMIC are worth about 700-800

GIAC Software about another 700

Loader is about 100

You do the math.
