Question New Buy 1.8T Quattro 99'

Hi, recently bought a 99 A4 1.8T Quattro from the UK, just driven it 1900Miles to my home in Italy. Everything good, car is standard no mods although someone has added a non OEM dump valve which I don't really care for.

I took it easy on the trip, no problems arose. Since then I have noticed a couple of things main one I need your help with....

When cornering quite hard to the right the engine noise seems to increase a lot almost as if resonating through the body, and almost certainly from the back of the car. My thinking is that the exhaust may have a broken or missing mounting rubber and is touching the body when cornering. What is your opinion?

I also have noticed that it somtimes makes a knocking noise from the same area when going over bumps, etc.

I also have worn brake discs on the back but for some reason one or both seem to grind first thing in the morning when cold but only for the first mile or two, this I find odd, any ideas?

Sorry for the long thread, hope someone can be of guidance....

Check your wheel bearings. Jack the car up and spin the wheel. If you hear any grinding noise then its the wheel bearings.

This one Im not sure on this one. It could be many things such as your shocks or control arms. Look at your shocks and see if any fluid is leaking. Someone else will chime in on this problem.

Its most likely the condensation that creates that noise. Also the fact that you have worn discs doesn't help either.

Welcome to Audizine. Throw some pics up, even if its stock.

^^he pretty much hit the nail on the head. As far as the "knocking" noise over bumps. Look at your tie rod ends and control arms. guaranteed to be something related to that.
