What do you think about the way this is painted? Black center, bodymatched edges.

I agree. The only problem is the cupra is not a smooth finish, i'll have to see what the guys at the bodyshop can do.

I LOVE IT!!! That looks sweet. Ya i can see how the texture would be a problem, just sand it down smooth. Plus you have to worry since its plastic it will flex and the paint will crack. So you must be really careful with it.

I was thinking of just putting an extra layer of primer on it, then sand that part down, and paint/clear coat.

I would say sand the plastic first so its smooth, then primer/sand really well. After get quality paint of your choice and a couple coats of clear that you can also sand it you want. That would make it almost flawless which you would need because I think its going to be noticed alot.

Looks like it was mold into the front bumper, which is a no-go. As soon as he scrapes something instant fault line across splitter/bumper junction.

I painted myne with the plasti dip stuff I used on my grille. Came out nice looking!

Hoping to purchase a new cupra this week and have it installed before the end of the month.

I WAS going to take pix...then my splitter got ripped off from the snow. I"ll def post some after this new one is installed.

I like the colour match on the sides too!
However, I would vinyl wrap some fake CF in the centre, or glossy black out the centre.
Don't want to keep it the plastic-like black!

or you can do what everyone else is doing right now and cover it in REAL carbon fiber. im sure thats never been done with that splitter. but then why wouldnt you just buy any other carbon one. hmmm...

I prefer the shape of the Cupra on the USP more than the carbon ones. If i can do what Clown is suggesting, I think it'll be pretty cool.
