    No "Start" Button?

Wow, I had no idea. I checked out the new TT (not an S) on Friday while I was getting a new battery installed in my S4, and I was surprised to find that keyless entry and keyless go were not standard nor optional on the TT. I would have thought that if any car out there would have these types of sporty and convenient features, the TT would have it.

I admire the new TT very much, and in particular the TT-S. I just wish that it came with this feature.

    Re: No "Start" Button?

I'm assuming it uses the same Audi keyfob that I'v been using for my A3 and the S4. I have to say, I don't particularly like this keyfob.

Come on... your complaining it doesn't have a push start? That's the last thing I would complain about... Even the R8 doesn't have push start.

Not complaining. Just expressing my surprise. Lots of cars have keyless entry and/or keyless (push) start. It's just really convenient to not have to fumble for a keyfob when it's raining and you've got an umbrella in one hand and a briefcase in another. It probably won't stop me from buying a TT-S, but it sure would be nice to have this feature in 2009 on an otherwise very modern automobile.

^^ i agree. i think it's standard on every nissan model, at least available. it's a very detail thing, not worth not buying the car over, but still this day in age especially for a luxury brand i would expect that to be standard.

Well, I agree it's not the end of the world, and in fact I never thought it was. I'm interested in getting a TT-S for a daily driver, because it seems to be a nice sporty coupe with decent fuel consumption and a peppy engine. The dealership I normally go to doesn't have a demo of an S right now though. Will keep looking around. Don't want to buy one without having tested it first.

Z4 also has no push start or keyless go. Roadsters tend to be less about luxury and more about driving, which I think is good, less things that can go wrong. I've heard of some A6 smart keys going bad.

Some reviews I've read pointed out unexpectedly noticeable turbo lag. Did you find that to be the case on your test drive?

Valid point. I guess I'll have to wait to see how the car performs first and foremost.

I'm quite excited by the prospect of getting behind the wheel of one...

Yes, compared to the 200hp 2.oT it has lag, but not bad... I love mine to death!!!

How many miles have you put on yours so far? What tires did yours come with?

    Nice colour, by the way.

Off-topic: Hmmm...I wonder if those 19s would fit on my S4. I've been looking to upgrade the 18" BBS wheels, but have yet to find anything that really appeals to me. But the TT-S's wheels look really good!

LOL... I just broke 200 miles! We had a pretty bad winter storm a couple days after I took delivery... and it lasted for several weeks. I have ContiSport 3 Summer tires so I didn't risk going out. Plus all the gravel was and still is a nightmare!

The wheels are 19x9 ET52... So not sure where that puts you.

    Re: No "Start" Button?

there did seem to be a little turbo lag, but i've never driven a forced induction car so i couldn't tell you if it was bad. it was pretty noticeable, because once the turbo kicked in... BOOM... take off! which i thought was fun :)

Yeah, we had it pretty bad up here in Vancouver as well..worst snowfall in 40 years. Thank goodness for Audi Quattro!

As for the tires themselves, I've used the Dunlop Sport Maxx and they're very durable but transmit a lot of road noise. I hope those Contis fare better in that respect. At only 200 miles, I guess you haven't really gotten a sense for how those tires perform yet...or have you?

Oh, and I really like those wheels. Must do more research on fitment issues. Thanks!

Yeah, it's funny how some people actually like that moment when the turbo has finally spooled up and suddenly you're hanging on for dear life. I'm looking forward to finding out how much of that I'd be doing in a TT.
