    Sirius a la carte?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Sirius is now offering lower levels of service using a la carte pricing. Since I only listen to about 10 channels, this would make sense.

Anyone know if the B7 SE package sirius radio is a la carte capable, or what the part/model number of the unit is?

    Re: Sirius a la carte?

It's nice that they're finally doing something like this. Even though I have sat radio in my car, I never use it because I don't need 120 channels of crap to sift through when I only want to listen to 10.

The a la carte service is 50 channels for $6.99. I have a feeling that the a la carte service will only be compatible with new devices though.

I am pretty sure it will be compatible with all. Ours is compatible with the little sports packages they have now. The channels we are allowed to listen to are not controlled by the car, but by the satellites and servers.

It's not compatible with our cars. I signed up online for Sirius last week. When I entered my vehicle type and receiver code, the "A La Carte" and "Best of XM options were grayed out. It said that they were not available with my receiver.

Isn't that why you can set up a favorites list by clicking the top left button on your controls (if you have the RNS-E). That way you only have to sift through the 10 stations you like... Sirius is definitely amazing and I think it's well worth the $12 a month. I usually listen to a broad range of music, so it's really good for that. But I'd definitely be a lost soul without Lithium!

    Re: Sirius a la carte?

I am pretty sure that I had the option to get the Best of XM when I signed up, but now I am not sure if it was grayed out or not. I knew I didn't want it, so didn't pay much attention. Sorry OP my original post may be incorrect.
