All of this is speculation and does not translate to real world. Two different cars with two different drivers and completely different engines.
actually, it would make a difference. Using your 190whp figure, thats assuming barely more than 25% drivetrain loss. taking that loss into account for 55 hp i assumed he might gain, the B5 nets out to about 231whp. With an assumed curb weight of approximately 3500, he ends up with about 15whp/lb. The stock V8 S4, however, has 255 whp assuming 25% drivetrain loss. And on a GENEROUS day, assume the V8 S4 weighs ONLY 3850lbs, you have just about, oh i dont know, 15whp/lb.
a 50-60 hp gain on a B5 S4 absolutely would make a huge difference in that race.
But in the end, if your point is simply that it would come down to the driver, then yeah. I agree.
