econ button on climate control

so what does the econ button on the climate control panel do exactly? I was reading in my manual and it was talking about fuel economy and some fans but am still confused on it a bit. Does it really even give u better fuel economy and if so what am I sacrificing by turning the button on?

The Econ button is lit when the compressor is not switched on. Hence the economy

yes, if you turn on the econ then you are turning off the ac compressor. during the winter, if you start to fog up then you will want to turn the econ off which will turn the ac on and that will help take the moisture out of the air. thats it.

Yes the Econ button shuts the A/C compressor off.

If the temperature drops below a certain temperature (I think its 40 degrees F) the A/C compressor will not kick in at all either way with Econ Button on or off.
