So I am finally getting some new tires on Monday. Anybody know when we are able to hit up the lake this year for some ice driving. How much is it too?

I think you only need all seasons or winter tires with an acceptable amount of tread remaining.

    Re: Georgetown Lake

you better just need all seasons. I just bought new all seasons today as well as new axles. Gotta say it feels like a compltely new car and put a big smile on my face. The new axles got rid of a lot of my undercar noises. Now im headed up to vail in the morning in the midst of the 1-foot-+ snow they are getting over the next 24 hours.

They do 2 fun day Fridays a year during their season. There was not enough ice on the lake so the Jan. 2 date was cancelled. Next one is Friday 27th. When I went last year, it was like $5. Three different courses set up. Run whichever one you want. Knock a cone down, go back and pick it up when you finish your race.

Any 4wd or AWD can run. I ran my Dodge Grand Caravan once!...

    Re: Georgetown Lake

My caravan did not have winter tires. They don't check.

If you want to enter the actual race events though, I'm not sure what the rules are for that.

I did a race once back in '99. I owned a Galant VR-4 (#1513/2000). You were not allowed to use studded tires.

The longest, slowest, coldest (~3*F), most boring day of racing I've ever had.

The fun days may be different though.
