Would an ECU swap have to be done at the dealer ?

If it has a flash on it, you can have an immobiler defeat on it, otherwise the dealer. Probably about $100.

    Re: ECU Swap

So if I look to swap my REVO flashed ECU for stock, I would have the problem with the stock ECU, not the person getting the flashed one. Or did I understand that wrong? Thanks for response.

    Re: ECU Swap

No matter what you do to your ECU it'll still work in you car, as for another ECU it'll have to be programmed.

You would have to get the stock ECU recoded at the dealership to retain the immobilizer III features (highly suggested). And for the flashed ECU, either the buyer will need to get the immobilizer deafeat file or get the ECU recoded at the dealer.

The buyer of the flashed ECU couldn't have the defeat done, the original purchaser of the flash would. The dealer would be the easiest option.

Ahhh that's right! Good catch. OP I sent my APR stage 1+ flashed ECU to APR to get the Immobilzer defeat for $150 before selling it to someone. And got my spare stock ECU recoded at the dealer.
