Re: where are the injectors on this car?

I am not going to be of any help, but I've heard the injectors are the longest part of the installation. The dealer charges you 10 hours worth of labor to install the STaSIS kit and most of that is for the injectors. Good luck!

Yes, the install is a PIA!

    The injectors have blue gaskets...

    Good luck man!

Underneath the intake manifold and directly inserted into the combustion chamber they have clips which hold them in place. To install the new ones you need a tool to do so and special sealant.

There's no special sealant. You do need new retaining clips but we provided these in the Stage 3 kit. They are packaged with the injectors and each injector gets two pieces that form one retainer assembly. So you should see 8 total odd looking metal clips bagged along with the injectors. The rear o-rings seal the inlet of the injector to the fuel rail. The retainer clips seal the body of the injector to the head of the engine. There are also teflon rings that you need but these come pre-installed on the injectors.

As far as tools, just follow the directions in the Stage 3 manual. Page 19 shows you how to bend the originally installed retainer clip to remove the injectors.

    Good luck!

thanks for all the help mike and on a Sunday. really appreciate it! A+ customer service. I got the Turbo Fully Mounted today and all the accessories (oil coolant lines etc... Got the Carbonio mounted with the new MAF and connected the dv. All i need to do is change the oil, oil filter, coolant and change the injectors. Probably another 3-4 hours should do it.

I'm sorry no special sealant but i would use the tool it's not something you want to break. I'm anal when it comes to these things. Don't get anything on the Teflon.

Good job! No problem, I am on the net looking at baby furniture for the forthcoming new born so I am stopping over at AZ every few minutes.

Make sure you fully seat the Air Horn onto the MAF Housing and trap the flow straightener (honeycomb mesh). Then use the set screws to hold the Air Horn in place. I would use some locktite on the threads of the set screws that hold the Air Horn to make sure it never backs off. There is no need to overtighten the set screws, you don't want to put dents in the MAF Housing, but I would use the locktite to make sure the Air Horn stays put long-term. It's very low risk but this is important because you don't want the Flow Straightener to come loose.

Then you can install the filter over the Air Horn and put the Carbon lid back on. It sucks to tuck that pretty Air Horn behind a filter and air box assembly but at least you get to see it before it all goes together.

    Mike
