    Hey guys,

I need to get my car smogged, but I doubt it will pass with all the shit I have going on with it.

My questions is I have relatives that live in Ft Collins and I heard if you have your car registered there you are exempt from getting smog done.

Let me know if you guys have any info, Pulling out all my SAI shit and dont want to ever have to smog this thing.

    thanks!

smogged? you mean get an emissions test? If you register your car in fort collins you don't need to get an emissions test done.

Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and the communities that lie in-between in the front range still have emissions testing requirements. If your car is registered outside of those areas (i.e. ft collins) you are emissions exempt. Register up there, but make sure it with relatives or a physical address. Only under very limited circumstances will the state let you register to a PO box outside of the metro area for that specific reason.

It is every two years in Colorado unless you bought your car brand new from the dealer, then it will be 4-5 years before having to do emissions.

Oh and Ted, Co Springs doe NOT have emissions. Emissions are mostly confined to the seven county metro area (Denver, Arapahoe, Jeffco, Douglas, Adams, Boulder, and Broomfield).

is your car still under CA plates or is it registered in CO? if it's already registered just drive past a bunch of those vans on the on ramps and they won't know you've ripped all of that out.
BT/BAT build threads make me happy I have a stock turbo

if it passes, then you're good to go and can get it renewed with the roadside machines. if you fail (or 2 years from now fail) just move your registration outside of the denver/boulder metro

oh you californians.. nobody from colorado calls it "smog" tests or "smogging". 'Round these parts we call it "emissions test".

You can pretty much go to any one of the locations listed on their site. Best time is mid-morning or mid-afternoon due to people trying to sneak in before or after work.

If you're close try to go to the one that is closest to Sante Fe & Evans. Every time I have gone there it has only been about a 20 minute wait from when I pull up to when they are done with the car and given me the keys back.
