Tein Basics - Need your expert advise or help.

So I just recently purchased a set of Tein Basic coilovers and had them installed by my local mechanic. Actually, it was his workers that installed them and off the bat I have notice two very noticeable changes.

    1. Headlight don't seem to adjust no more. Normally, when I turn on the headlights, they would do some kind of self adjustment and it's very noticable especially when I have it pointed to my closed garage door. Now I have turned them on and no self adjusting action, just nothing happening. I have check the headlight auto sensor lever in the front driver side and it seems to be put back in place just fine. Is there anything I can do or double check or put the car in a better positioning to see if the sensors work?

    2. Coilovers seems to be a bit "bouncy" especially in the rear. I read on numerous threads before deciding to purchase these that they are a tad stiffer than stock, but as of right now they do not feel any bit stiffer than stock. They feel softer than kinda bounch a bit when I'm driving as if I just did the cheap ol' fashion cutting the OEM springs just to get the lowered look, but totally messing up the entire suspension. Is this normal? I have had them on for about 3 days now and already did an alignment and all.

If anyone has some sort of picture or link where I can see the proper assembly of the Tein Basic coilover setup, that would help me out alot or just type down all the parts from top to bottom of the shock.

for example: (rear shock assembly parts) OEM top mount > dust cover > bumpstop > etc....) I want to check again if those mechanic did it right. I know they were just bitchin all day about the car and hated to work on the suspension blah blah blah....

    THANKS IN ADVANCE GUYS.

How low are you? Did the shop use the OEM bumpstops, if so were they the sport or the non-sport. If they were the non sport and you are fairly low you might just be riding on the bumpstops. If you are really low you may need to trim the bumpstops.

Your dampers also don't have any rebound/compression adjustments so you are stuck with what ever Tein used for dampening rates. But i would check the bump stop issue first.

For reference (A4mods.com website) The bumpstop is that rust colored peice attached to the upper boot. Hopefully martini doesn't mind

Thank you for the reference. My suspension was the sport suspension since I have the Ultrasport package. The mechanic did show me the bumpstop and he chopped it in half to make it work, just the same length as the picture above. I think maybe the ride is just what it is, I can't think of anything the could of installed wrong. I've checked and double checked with Tein's install instructions, looked online to compare if the instructions from the box is the same as the pdf online and it is. So my mechanic probably installed everything right, but the ride just seems so soft to me and a bit bouncy. Not sure what else to do next....maybe go to a meet and see if someone has the same set up and take a ride in their car.

If your headlights are not adjusting your mechanic may have broken or forgot to reattach the leveling sensor

^^ Doesn't he have to vag-com it and adjust them to "0" when altering right height?
    OEM is sexy.

i beleive it is channel 55 for adjusting the lights and re-setting the level on the auto-level sensor.
