    CPO?

BTW: RAudi Driver, im a two ringer

Sorry for the noob question. Just purchased my first Audi (used) 2 months ago and I love it. I keep seeing threads about CPO car's and I have no idea what it means? Is it an extended warranty? Can it get transfered to the new owner (me)? How can I find out if the previous owner had it?

Again, im sorry, but I can't find an answer anywhere.

    Thanks, Alex.

    Re: CPO?

It's extended warranty from Audi and from what I understand CPO cannot be transferred to next owner.

    Re: CPO?

Thanks guys, I have no idea why I couldn't figure that out. Why is it not transferable though? Is it because I didn't get it from an Audi dealership?

Depends on when you bought the CPO'd car. I believe if you bought it before Oct 06 it can be transferred for $150 or something like that.. That's about the time I bought mine and it is transferable.

So certain used CPO'd cars are still transferable..

    Re: CPO?

I guess my car can't be CPO'd if it was a 1 owner when I purchased it used from a non Audi dealership.

Thanks guys, question was answered and I appreciate the help.

    Re: CPO?

    Oh, just a thought...

Is there a way to find out if the original owner purchased a "extended warranty" ? That would mean it's payed for under the VIN of the car, and should still be good?

    Thanks, Alex

    Re: CPO?

To my knowledge you cannot add the CPO to a car you already own. If your existing warranty from Audi hasn't run out you can add their protection to the car for a couple of grand. It's money well spent.

    This is correct.

If a car was CPO'd before October of 2006 then the warranty can be transferred to any amount of owners up until its maturity for the $150 fee.

For example if i bought a car CPO'd in July 2006 and it was good to 100k or 1/1/2009 then the CPO can be transferred to everyone who owns that car for the fee.

On the other hand if you bought a car that was CPO'd AFTER October 2006 then it cannot be transferred.

If you have a car that was Certified Pre-Owned in the past it is worth it to do some research on when it was CPO'd. You never know you might get a nice warranty for $150

    Re: CPO?

The CPO also carries a small deductible - I think it is around $50 per.
