B7 A4 with RS4 Grill?

I went to order a B7 RS4 grill, or any grill that has the mesh style. So far all the places say that you have to have an S-line bumper for it to fit. The car im putting it in is just an A4 3.2. Can this still work with modification? Or does anyone know the difference? Lastly does anyone know where i can get one if that one doesnt work out?

Yes - you need an S-line bumper but you can still put it on a non-Sline with significant modifications.
you can either make your bumper fit the grille or the grille fit the bumper.

People have done both on this forum. You can search for the DYI.

To make the bumper fit - you have to make the opening larger. To make the grille fit - you need two grilles - one S-line and one regular. you remove the frame on both of them - cut the mesh in such a way to fit the non-Sline frame. Re-attach the mesh in the nonSline frame and then you are good to go.

I'd like to know aswell. I'm trying to get something like the rs4 grille without having to mess with my bumper.

a4 cabrio already said whats up..

either you cut the grille down to make it fit your bumper.. or you cut your bumper to make it fit the longer grille. search and you can find some threads on how to do both of those. neither options is overly difficult but it will require a little bit of work.

Currently there isn't an exact RS4 replica. All of the available grilles that fit a non s-line are going to look a little bit different. Mainly the size of the honeycomb is going to be a little bit smaller. Here are the two closest options that I've found. I'm most likely going to go with the OSIR carbon fiber grille at the end of this winter.

OSIR Carbon Fiber. Listed at $459 and DC Designs (Sponsor on here) sells them. If you want to keep your rings, it is another $100+ for the ring holder.


Oettinger Grille made for their body kit but it will still fit a non s-line. Listed at $479. If you want rings, you have to purchase them for an extra $21.

I'm not sure if it will fit, but I don't think it will fit. I like the idea of the ring holder because it makes it look a little cleaner and more like all of the stock grilles. The Oettinger rings just look like they were stuck on there. However, it does suck that the OSIR ring holders are listed at $189 on their website, that's pretty steep. But, there is a discount if you purchase the grille and ring holder at the same time (although I think it's only like $30 off). Here is a picture of the ring holder on a B6 grille... It looks like you would use the stock rings.

The last time I checked the classified there was one for sale. Check there and check often. Lots of good stuff cheap.
