My car continues to confuse me

i will try to explain this the best i can. A few weeks ago i used this thread http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...lar+ebay+cable to set my windows to open and close with my remote.

I changed the value to 11896 from 11820 and it worked right away.

I had to do a timing belt job on the car so the battery was unhooked for 2 days. When i hooked it back up the remote windows didnt work. So today i went to fix that.

The ECU still had it set to 11896 so i changed it back to 11820, took the key out of the ignition then put it back in. Went in and changed the value to 11896 again and the remote windows didnt work.

So i tried using this thread http://forums.audiworld.com/a8d3/msgs/9280.phtml .. i added 64 to 11896 to make it 11950. then going to Adaptions and just using a value of 7. My car didnt like that at all the alarm started to go off along with the hazards.

So i changed it back to 11896 and now the remote windows works fine..

Any one have an idea why ? Was i switching the values to fast for the computer to recognize them ?

While i was doing this VAG COM stuff i also went into instruments and set the car to rest of world by changing the third digit from the right to a 1.

So the FOG lights now stay on with high beams. Just have to mod the switch to have fogs with no headlights. Here is the link for that if anyone wants it http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...og+lights+drls

You probably need to reset the pinch protection. Do this by fully lowering the window and continue to hold the button for a few seconds after it reaches the bottom, and then raise it and continue to hold the button for a few seconds after it reaches the top. Verify that the auto up/down works afterward. Repeat for the remaining windows.
