    New Hood

Long story short my uncle thought it would be a good idea to back up into my car yesterday.

He has an SUV so it hit a bit higher. Luckily he wasn't going fast but it looks like I'll be needing a new grille and a new hood. I've looked at ECS for the grille and am probably just going to go to a body shop for the hood. What should I be expecting as far as just the hood goes? Or does anyone have any suggestions as to a better place to get one?

I think a CF one will be cheaper then a factory one after you figure in paint etc. If CF is your thing.

    Re: New Hood

the CF hoods are OK, not as strong as the oem, do not buy cheap china repro hoods or body panels. I have a VIS CF hood and am not too happy with the fit and finish of it. Cost will be less when all is done for the CF hood as dirtybrd said.
I have heard good things about the DTM hood but have never seen it.

    Re: New Hood

It isn't my own car , family owned. If it was then I would be all over the boser/dtm autohaus, but for now I can't.

For CF its recommended to get hood pins even if you have the regular hood latch correct? If so, CF would be a no go as well. I'm allowed to do minor cosmetic mods such as joey-modding, debadging, etc. but nothing that would attract attention to those who know nothing about cars.

    Re: New Hood

Kinda hard to tell but the lower portion of the grille is basically where it got pushed in. The only reason I see myself needing a new hood is because the grille mounts onto the lower portion that got bent in. Also it is harder to pull the latch between the rings to pop open the hood. What's everyones thoughts on getting the hood pulled?

    Edit: The rings snapped off

    Re: New Hood

You could pull that back out by hand and put a new grille on it. Very, very minor from the pics.

    Re: New Hood

try replacing the grille first. If it looks that there is no way to get a new grille on the hood that way then buy a new hood as a last option.

    Re: New Hood

remove the old gril, pull it out (hood) and with the new gril massage the hood back to where it should be, If you are not comfortable doing it, get a good body shop to do it, in cases like this it is less $$ to give it to a pro, and let them do it from the begining, than to FUBAR it yourself and then make it harder for them to fix, In any case it seems very repairable from the pics.

    Re: New Hood

Popped the grille out today and took a look at everything. I don't know why I expected it to be hard, but even for someone that has no real bodywork experience it looks like it should be easy to pull back. I'm going to bring it by a family friend's shop tomorrow and just have them pull it for me. Turbo1A4, thanks for the offer but I'm gonna use this chance to upgrade to an S4 grille. On that note, if anyone has an S4 grille(preferably both upper and lower), shoot me a PM.
