Aww man, just a little too much fun. What did you hit? Cracking a rim is not easy on our cars. Hopefully you just screwed up all your mounts and no major damage happened. When I started to take apart my car, and I saw the passenger motor mount, sheared off the frame, I had my doubt. Good luck man, and keep us posted

and yes,i was ken block driving all night,this was bound to happen. and when slipping and adding more throttle and trying to pull the ebrake,it just didnt work out 1 time out of 200 last night.

for your shifter, open up the surround and check the bolts, they probably moved forward. second, check the control arms and tie rods. if its as bad as u say i hope u didnt break the rack. i did that when i hit my mustang

35-40mph. quattro can usually handle it...not this time.

yea insurance adjuster comes monday, sucks i just put on a $1k deductible. we'll see what happens. gonna be a good amount of damage,probably not totalled but because the engine is so far forward and broke fans,etc i dont know.

Depends. If his shifter only slipped, you're probably right.

If his shifter is messed up and engine is sitting on the fan because everything shifted...he's fucked.

things needing to be replaced that i can see:

bumper and lower grills + paint (just got this one,and it was upwards of $2k from Audi)
fender and both fender liners + paint
drivers side wheel and tire
timing cover,bipipes,radiator fan,fmic (if covered but prob not)
drivers side headlight

plus any mechanical issues like control arms,axle,trans and motor mounts,etc

I'd say that's borderline totalled - the engine / transmission must be shunted back a fair bit to get your shift to be in that position.

If the drivetrain's moved due to busted mounts, then not too bad. But personally, I think you've got frame damage. Your propshaft and rear diff won't like the shock either.

I must say, it takes a hell of an impact to do that much damage.

True..if that's all that's wrong with it..But his entire drivetrain is shifted if the shifter is situated how it is. Plus, the motor is into the radiator...He did some serious damage...Totaled would not be that surprising of an outcome.

OP i hope everything works out for the best. with the age of these cars the likelihood of a total is much higher which blows. i gotta give you props though for admitting that you got a little too gutsy in the snow and lost it, unlike all the "a cat ran out in front of me" or some shit threads

Dang, that sucks man. I hit a low curb sliding this year, the lot was strait ice. Neither quattro, snow/ice tires, ABS, e brake, power, nothing could stop it. Lucky me though, it was like 2 mph, scraped the right front winter rim, o well. And even if I bent something, it gets new suspension all around come March :D My friend did worse damage to his cobalt, bumper, hood, fender, wheel, front sus, headlight fell out, caused all his lights to go out, dash and all, engines in power reduction mode too. ECM is in that corner. Sucks, but happens to the best of us... Good luck with everything!
