Symphony CD player stopped working. HELP!

So for the past couple of weeks my CD player has been acting sorta funny. Sometimes it makes a weird noise like its trying to read it, but alot louder. A few times i was listening to a soung and then it just skipped to the next one for no reason. This morning i start the car to let it warm up, and the CD player is working fine. I go inside for 10min to let it warm up, and when i go back out to the car the CD wasnt playing and "err2" was on the display. I switched to FM and it was still working, then switched back to CD and the same code popped back up.

Ive tried cutting the CD player and car off to see if it resets itself but it didnt do any good...and now it wont even switch from FM to CD. It wont eject the CD thats in there either. The manual was no help, and neither was the search button. The fuse is still good.

Anyone know what the problem could be? The radio sucks and doesnt pick up any of the stations i like, and its torture driving without music. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

00 s4 with bose symphony radio and no changer.

best bet is to get another one if it is totally fubared. I have been having issues with mine reading CD's sometimes it skips but I have never gotten an error on the screen.

Thanks for all the replies. I was hoping i wouldnt have to buy another one, but if thats what i have to do then so be it. Does anyone know if all B5 symphony radios are interchangeable?

Anyone know where i can get a breakdown of each error message? Ive been searching but cant find anything. However, im working on 3hrs of sleep so i wouldnt be surprised if ive missed something lol

Or if anyone knows what err2 means...thatll help too!

I got a new one, Audi canada is clearing them out for $40 each. If you really want i could buy one and send it to you.

Not too long ago Audi had a stock pile of stereos they were selling for cheap. Call up Carson @ Riverside and see.

Thanks for the replies. Im gonna call Audi on Monday and see what their prices are. If theyre cheap then ill pick one up. If not then i might be hitting you up MacDaddy. Thanks in advance for offering to help out! I need to get this fixed soon, driving without music just isnt pleasurable...especially when its too cold to roll down the windows to listen to the turbos/exhaust lol

Im surprised theyre so cheap from Audi. Knowing their insane price gouging, i was expecting like $700 or something lol
