    034 rear brake setup***pics inside***

My old brakes were shot. So ordered the 034 rear brake setup and porterfield R4-S pads. So all in all after the install it looks great feels more solid under braking, but I found a couple of issues with 034 hardware. The bolts that connect your new 034 carrier to caliper have clearence issues with the hub. The only way I was able to install the brake setup was attaching the carriers first to the calipers and then mounting it to the hub (which took forever while the rotor kept trying to fall off! when you would have it just perfect). For me the drivers side was harder I think the E-brake cable is shorter on that side. Why in the world did the kit come with 18" SS lines? No point should have def been shorter. All in all very happy with the setup and glad to see that the bolts were steel and the carrier was steel not aluminium!

    Pictures enjoy.....

Yeah i also had clearance problems with the hub/upright on the stupid bracket. I had to dremel away the casting lines and then some to get the allen bolt to clear.

of course they said "this has never ever happened to anyone else before" .... ya right.

luckily it was an easy fix.

I Am a bit surprised the kit was made with such a tight clearence for the bolts and ebrake cable but u really can't help that I suppose.

Well i laughed at the comparable expense of the stasis rear brake kit at the time.

I take it back. Sometimes, not having to take a grinder to your car is worth a few hundred dollars.

minor set backs, I want to get this kit, but i'm not keen on the idea of having braided steel hoses on the rear and rubber hoses on the front, and i don't care to shell out money for front braided hoses. I was thinking of trying some S8 hoses or whatever that rotor is for.

did you have to remove the heat shield?

I wouldn't worry about the lines up front not being stainless, but yes the shield around the rotors need to be removed to small to fit around the massive 12inch rotors in the rear now!

I have Some stainless steel lines for the fronts, used for 400km. The reason they are only used for around 400km is thats about the time i blew my turbos. Anyways just let me know if you want these hit me up with a Pm.
