In my B5 I ran the OEM RS4 setup and it held up quite well to stg 3 power on pump gas. Is this a similar upgrade path for the B7? Or ??

    Re: RS4 clutch in S4?

crank is supposedly different on the rs4, leading me to believe the bolt pattern on the crank being different

    Re: RS4 clutch in S4?

I already did the research through the oem parts diagrams. Here is what we found.

We did this research to begin the process of hopefully eventually putting together our own LWFW setup and clutch kit.

    PRESSURE PLATE
The B7 S4 and the B7 RS4 share the same pressure plate (same part number, so the clamp load is identical). The B6 S4 has a different part number for their pressure plate.

    CLUTCH DISC
The B6 S4, B7 S4 and B7 RS4 all have different part numbers for the clutch disc. (thickness, material, ??? haven't sat down and measured or inspected any new parts first hand) All 3 are 240mm.

    FLYWHEEL
The RS4 has a 10 bolt flywheel(to the crank) thus is totally different. The B6 and B7 S4 both have a 8 bolt flywheel(to the crank) but different part numbers.

    THROWOUT BEARING
All three share the same throwout bearing.

From all this I am assuming that the B7 S4 has a better clutch than the B6 S4 being that the B7 RS4 shares the same pressure plate as the B7 S4.

    Hope this info helps.
