instructions call for the controller to be connected betweek the boost source and the wastegate actuator. the problem im having with this is doesnt the N75 valve do the same thing? or will this actually create some interference?
    any input is greatly appreciated.

The N75 is an electronic boost controller. You do not want to use a manual boost controller.

You could say that, but it would be more like a computer controlled boost controller. No adjustability there. Tons of people are running MBC's

I know a lot of people on here use them...then again, there's a lot of people on here who use $200 ebay clutches and $10 short shifters.

I ran an MBC with my N75 to limit boost when I ran PC-16 years ago, but I would never run one to raise boost on the stock or chipped computer...

how did you run it. my instructions said from actuator to boost source, but that pretty much what the n75 is. would you just run it inline from the N75 to the actuator and completely avoid the boost source line?

anyone running an MBC to strictly raise their boost level? how did you install it?

    Re: Help With A Mbc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you really want to do this, replace your n75 with the MBC. you shouldnt run two boost controlers in series. you leave the N75 plugged in electronicly but just take off the line coming from the turbo housing (pressure source) plug that into the "in" side of the MBC, then take the other line from the n75 going to the wg actuator and connect that to the "out" side of the MBC. done.

    Re: Help With A Mbc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can also run the n75 parallel with the mbc but this would limit boost to whatever the n75 is allowing (or the mbc if set low enough). this is mainly done to eliminate boost spikes.

You leave the N75 connected, but run a diode to fool it into thinking the boost is less then it is 2 prevent limp mode. So much mis-information in this thread. Talk 2 CincyTT on audiforums if you want the most info possible from someone who's done some crazy stuff with the stock ECU.

how do you guys plan on adjusting the timing & fuel on the stock ECU when you raise the boost?

Car will do it automatically to a point. By then your outta the turbo's efficency range. May not be optimal for power, but still safe.

You would only use the diode on the 2000-2001 year models because they have MAP sensors. I would suggest you buy a chip.

The diode is for the map sensor. You will need that with an MBC.

i cant think of the name, but the one with the remote adjuster knob that gets routed to the cabin. that one seems pretty trick. they also sell the same mbc but without the cable attachment.

edit: i was thinking of a hallman with cockpit controller package.

what about my post was mis-informative? the title of the thread is help with a MBC. it has nothing to do with the diode mod. i told him how to connect his MBC.

for a small (stock) turbo the TurboXS HPBC controler is a good choice, it has both a bleed type and spring type control mechanism that helps to eliminate spiking and surging.

    Re: Help With A Mbc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly you should just stay away from a MBC just get a chip and leave the N75 valve alone, if you really wanted to you could get the ECS Tuning N75 race valve which will give you a higher spike along with what your chipped ecu brings your boost to. I would only recommend a MBC if you are doing a custom set up, or for some reason want to keep your boost level low but seems like you want to increase it.
