stupid #@@$@ ice chunks from wheel wells in the road

score another one from MN weather..

I was driving on 13S on Tuesday at about 1 am.. the temp was extremely low, so everything was iced over. Lo and behold ... there was this HUGE triangular chunk of ice in the middle of the road. I didn't dare try to avoid it with the road conditions and surrounding vehicles. This thing looked like it'd fit into the wheel well of a lifted 4x4.

Took it head on. It nearly ripped off my front valence and cracked the lip of my OEM bumper shroud.. @#$@$@$@$#@$#@

needless to say i'm not happy ...

Any suggestions on how to repair a plastic crack? or where to take that they might be able to do some plastic weld? not sure what's the best route here if any.

sorry to hear about that. if you want to repair you bumper heres how

take the bumper off tape it on the inside (as if it were a cut and you were using butterfly band aids) then you going to want to clean it up a tad bit. then dry. then apply some bondo to it let it dry sand it . (may need to apply another layer or 2 of bondo) then sand it down until smooth and even. then you paint and..... bam its fixed

Bondo on plastic will crack for sure. Use this.....http://http://solutions.3m.com/wps/p...gl7V91QLRJ7Fbl

It's a 2 part epoxy that will adhere to the plastic and give it OEM strength. You can sand it, and build any low spots with plastic filler. Feather it smooth, prime and paint, done.

that will be covered under comprehensive I beleive. If you hit a deer it's comprehensive. This ice wasn't part of the road so call your insurance company and ask, btw, if you want, keep anonymous and ask.

Way too much misinformation flying out here with regards to insurance.

Any moving contact with another object and/or person is considered exactly that, a collision and will be treated as such by the insurance company.

A comprehensive claim is only that which happens when the vehicle is not moving - fire, theft, vandalism, etc.
