well since its wont be out around the end of 2009, audi still has time to possibly change the price and options. and i thought the s4 was going to be around 50k to be competitive pricewise with the 335i (correct me if im wrong on any of this)

Don't look now but optioned out the 335 gets pretty high in the 50s. The pricing is about the same.

Actually ventilated seats are great in warm weather situations. Many times I've wished that I had ventilated seats after stepping into my car on a hot day, especially after I've been to the driving range. Only problem with perforated seats is cleaning them. But not having ventilated seats as an option would not be a deal-breaker for me.

I've had ventilated seats on Merecedes and Lexus cars, and they're great. Frankly I was a little surprised that there was no option in the Audi S4/RS4 for venti-seat. When I picked my car up and drove it from Atlanta to Toronto in May, the few hundred miles through Georgia, Kentucky etc. had me wishing the seats were ventillated...my ass and lower back were burning up.

I'd never make it a dealbreaker on a car purchase, but I also wouldn't rip on a guy for wanting it.

Nicest vented seats I've been in were in my friend's Lincoln Aviator.

They were heated AND air conditioned.

Nothing like a cool jet of air cooling your nutsack in the summer!

By the way, I'd love to have active ventilated seats in my next car, but as others have said, it won't be a deal breaker for me. More and more mid-range vehicles are adding them as options now including the upcoming Infiniti G37 hardtop convertible (not sure if that means the sedan and coupe will also get them). I'm 6'1" and weigh 175 lbs, so not a heavy guy by any stretch, but I do find my back sweating on my black leather Recaros in the hot Texas summer more often than I'd prefer.

Lincoln has them on all thier cars now. And thier bad ass. When its hot out and u kick the a/c seat on its awesome. Expecially when the leather gets hot from the sun. Its pretty simple how ford does it. All they use is a fan some duct work and some wierdo module that gets hot and cold. I have no idea how it gets cold and a control module.

If ford can put them on a 40 thousand car im sure audi can design something to go on the S4. But then again a S4 is not full luxary otherwise it would be a A8. Maybe one day the S4 will have a/c seats
