    Master Window Switch

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So today, very overcast in Florida, I decided to roll down the window to let a fly out. Next thing I know it starts drizziling and the window won't go back up.....

On the master switch the rear passenger window switches both work. The two front switches do not work on the driver's side. When I try and put them down nothing happens, no noise, nothing. However, the passenger side window switch does still work.

Using the locking feature from the outside using the key I was able to close the windows....

*The buttons still light up when the lights are turned on.

Do I just need to replace the master window switch on the driver's side? Or is something more complicated? Thanks for any help. (Yes I searched )

the switch is relatively easy to replace, i used B7 unit since they don't peel

take door card off and arm rest/switch piece comes off with 2 screws

But is that the solution? I have the DIY to replace the switch but I need to know that that is actually what I need to do.

    Re: Master Window Switch

    Baa I know that!

But will replacing the switch fix this problem? Because the switch is just a piece of plastic? And there seems to be no damage to the switch right now...

I need to know if I actually need to buy the new switch...going to the dealer to buy some other stuff tomorrow anyways.

    Re: Master Window Switch

It just occured to me that this was the first time I used the window switches since I got my windows tinted...They might have reinstalled the switches a bit off and when I put the window down the first time it knocked a wire loose or something...

Also I tried to disconnect the battery as I read that the pinch protection might be causing this (didn't work), and after I did this the windows no longer open/close from the outside key hole when you hold the key....lame! Is this because I need to open/close all of the windows from the inside to reprogram the key? I already reprogrammed the key fob, atleast I thought so because the buttons work,

Whudafxup here...gonna give the tint store a call tomorrow.

    Re: Master Window Switch

Did you come to a solution for this problem? I am having nearly the same issues.

When using the switch on any door the window wont go down or up, the drivers side switch still works all windows except for the drivers side.

    Re: Master Window Switch

It was the main window switch. I ended up switching it out and I haven't had a problem since.
