3.0 coil packs the same as 1.8t?

I've got 6 good coil packs from my 2003 3.0 and want to use them in my wife's 2003 1.8T. Are the coil packs the same between engines?

I don't believe so. The 1.8T CPs have different part numbers than the 3.0 CPs.

check the part number on the coilpacks on the the 1.8t car and see if it matches the number you have on your new 3.0 coilpacks.

i have a 2005 1.8t and just replaced one of my coilpacks. The part number on mine is 06B 905 115 R (thats the new coilpacks part number. The original had an M at the end instead of the R).

The latest revision for the 1.8T is R. Just did a search...3.0 CPs are different than 1.8T CPs.

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm going to the dealer today to pick up some correct coil packs.

DONT GO TO THE DEALER! You can get 4 brand new one from ECS for just a bit over what youd pay for 2 at the dealer. Take a guess how I know.
