2.0tdi or 2.0t ??

Hi 2.0tdi newbie here.....I was having a new years dinner with a guy who had the 2.0t. And i was trying to convince him the tdi was a better engine in which he did not agree. So id ask the forum what the pros and cons between the 2 engines??

diesel generally has more mpg, torque and less power...correct me if im wrong

i would go with the TDI for fuel economy and the 2.0t if you want to modify your car and fuel economy is not as important

TDI for torque and economy.....T for modding, power, SOUND and RPM. :)

I have the 2.0 TDI as well, but I would have to agree with your friend, the 2.0T has 200bhp vs our 140bhp and obviously it is much more sporty to drive with the higher RPM and lower wieght etc, but with an engine mod, 180bhp+ is possible while still keeping the 45mpg+ economy!! Best of both worlds!!
