Yes, that is what several of the GT28 cars are using.

Alot more to it than just dropping a crank in. Knock yourself out though. All said and done you wont save much money.

    Re: Would This Work ?

Chicago Performance Tuning (gocpt.com) told a buddy of mine what a nightmare the stuff they make is with a lot of failures and poor warranty issues. I don't think they will even buy anything from them. I'm interested to know, their stuff is pretty cool...and expensive.

    You may need custom rods.

    Re: Would This Work ?

Yeah, it will fit. there are a couple threads on audi world you might want to check out. Search z tuned over there (lil' is 300 here) and 3.0 gt. he was selling his whole 3.0 bottom end set up for cheap. IIRC, there are issues with running high boost on the 3.0 because the bigger crank means the rods are covering more distance and moving faster. I guess things start to get dangerous over 7400rpms. The autospeed 3.0 was having problems with crankcase pressure if I remember correctly(not sure if this was ever sorted out). It seems like the general consensus over on audi world was build a 2.8 with worked heads and you can rev to 8400. GL though, I would like to see further development and testing in terms of 3 litres.
