    Re: O2 sensor replacement

I got the socket from advance auto to change them and was able to get to the rear one from under the car wasn't easy though.

To my surprise the rear one actually came out pretty easy

I think they are zip tied to some other wires on the back of the motor so dont yank on it when u get it out of the exhaust.

here is a link to what i used , it was the middle one for the back sensor https://www.automedicsupply.com/pictures/27110_.jpg

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

    No way,
Regular box wrenches will make them pop out.

BTW< where does the wire harness connect to the block? Anybody got a pic?

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

I meant the wires run behind the motor and are zip tied with others not that they connect to the back of the block. the connection is on the fire wall under the radiator over flow tank

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

simple as cake. even the rear one. just use a regular open ended wrench. and if they don't come easy, soak them down with penetrating oil for a good 20 minutes and then go at it. follow the wires and replace. should take less than 20 minutes

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

You can ues the closed end of the wrench if you have any issues, just cut the wires and slip it over. Also, sometimes carbon will build up on the inside of the threads. I recommend that as soon as you get them broken loose, that you spray some sort of penatrating oil on the threads. If they start getting tight on the way out, turn them in a little and then out a little more. Continue this until they're free.

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

ok so guys, i replaced both sensors. ran the wires back up the same way the stock ones were. zip tied it all back up. everything went good, rear one was a bitch tho.

only question... i have smoke coming from the front o2 sensor and im guessing its the grease/lube w.e it was on the thread of the sensor thats burning off in the cat?

    is it temp?

let me know thanks guys. i will see if its the same after i drive the car around for a bit.

    Re: O2 sensor replacement

Probably anti-sieze lube. It should stop after a little driving.

came out fine. smoking stopped after a while and the process was really easy. rear sensor was a pain but doable.
