Getting them in 18's, et35 with Falken FK452 tires--235/40/18. Sound good? Any other tire recommendations for a similar price or size?

Nice! Those should look pretty good. Couple of experiences I've had with my OZ's: Some people say that they're pretty soft and bend easily. I usually avoid all potholes however I was driving the other day and I didn't see a pretty big pothole and hit it square on. It jarred my car really bad and I was pretty sure there would be some damage. However, I felt no wheel shake and when I finally arrived at my destination I was surprised that nothing was bent. Apparently the low pressure cast is stonger than I had assumed. Also, I have 19's so your 18's should be able to withstand even more.

One thing to make sure you do is clean your wheels at the least every few weeks. I had been doing this since I got them last May and everything was fine. With the weather turning sour and us getting a lot of rain and coldness, I didn't wash my car for about a month and a half. A few weeks ago I washed everything up real good a day after they had laid some salt down on the roads and came to find that my front wheels were kind of rusting in some spots around the lip. I don't think it could have been the salt because it was only on there for about 20 hours and it was mostly on the spokes and not the lip where it is rusting. It might have been caused by brake dust sitting on them for too long. Anyways, I'm going to be taking my wheels off on Saturday for the rest of the winter and I'll look more into the situation and call tirerack for some suggestions. I heard that they have a 1 year warranty on their wheels so hopefully they will replace them if I can't buff it out.

I'm going to go order the tires tomorrow. I should've asked this earlier, these wheels are hubcentric, correct? Or they have the hubcentric rings on them? And I get bolts too? (I think I do, but I'm to lazy to go back and look at all those PM's)

They are not hubcentric but I am including the hub rings, and you might get a set of lugs too if I can find those lying around If not you can use the stock ones anyways.

Sweet. Don't want vibrations! Also, I was looking at the tire size you suggested and I think that will be perfect. Another question: If I get a flat, can i use a stocker on as a spare since the tire sizes should be pretty close?

It will work since you the total size of the wheel/tire isn't really changing. Keep the stock 17 in the trunkkkkkk

I would start looking for a 5th wheel and tire to have as a spare. I hit a pot hole recently and it royally fcked my tire (FK452) so I had to roll around on one stock S-Line wheel while I waited for a new wheel and tire to be shipped. At the very least make sure someone in the area carries that tire for a reasonable price. Everyone around me wanted $250+ for a tire I can get shipped for $160.

Actually that's one of the advantages to getting these wheels, you can always just order another at tirerack if need be, but he can use the stock 17 until then. (in an emergency situation)

Yeah, I can do the same thing with RS4 Reps (235/35/19 is very close to rolling diameter of my stock wheels at 235/40/18) however I was just saying it's a good idea so you don't have to ride around with a different wheel for several days while you wait for a new tire or wheel. That's just me though, I hated it and did my best not to drive my car like that. Also with quattro the slight difference freaked me out.

they're 19's... if you want yours to look similar to that, consider getting 225/40/18 tires = less weight, cheaper, and lower profile (makes your wheels look larger)

you give up a little sidewall, but you still have significantly more rubber than 19" low-pro tires.

Well, outside of appearance, the difference between 225/40/18 and 235/40/18 will be marginal IMO

the 225 will have slightly lighter weight and less rotational inertia for slightly better acceleration. however, the sidewall is a little bit smaller than the 235's so the ride quality might be a liiiiittle bit worse (but the tire itself is a little lighter and lighter unsprung weight = better ride quality, so they do kind of offset) but nothing noticeable. it's mainly for appearance.. as long as you maintain tire pressures like you should be doing, no real downsides.

coming from 235/35/19's --> 225/40/18's.. the ride is WAY more compliant now than it used to be and the car "feels" more agile

check out my bbs ch threads with pics if you want to see what a 225/40/18 looks like.. it all depends on the rim design but meatier tires make the 18's look like 17's on some cars.

the OZ's will look hot either way.. good luck!
