Well, outside of appearance, the difference between 225/40/18 and 235/40/18 will be marginal IMO
the 225 will have slightly lighter weight and less rotational inertia for slightly better acceleration. however, the sidewall is a little bit smaller than the 235's so the ride quality might be a liiiiittle bit worse (but the tire itself is a little lighter and lighter unsprung weight = better ride quality, so they do kind of offset) but nothing noticeable. it's mainly for appearance.. as long as you maintain tire pressures like you should be doing, no real downsides.
coming from 235/35/19's --> 225/40/18's.. the ride is WAY more compliant now than it used to be and the car "feels" more agile
check out my bbs ch threads with pics if you want to see what a 225/40/18 looks like.. it all depends on the rim design but meatier tires make the 18's look like 17's on some cars.
the OZ's will look hot either way.. good luck!
