Can paddles be turned on with a wheel swap in an 06 Tip?

I know that one can use VAG com to turn on paddles in wheel swaps that I've seen here, but in which auto transmissions can paddle function be turned on if a wheel is added with paddles, all B7s? We have an 06 Tip, non S-line. Was it just S-line cars that had paddles, but all the Tips were capable of paddle shifting DSG style?

I've searched and not found this cleared up, so I appreciate your thoughts on my dumb yet potentially expensive mistake question...

From what I have read, all auto B7's are capable of having the paddle feature turned on via VAG. They have the same computer internals, it's just a matter of telling those internals you have paddles now. I do not believe it matters which "auto transmission" you have - the "DSG style" thing you refer to sounds like the setup offered with FWD B7's where you can set 7 peak RPM points to make it feel more like traditional gearing.

if you didnt do a steering wheel swap and had the oem non-sline wheel, could u vag-com the to buttons with no function on the wheel do be up and down shifts buttons?
