Power steering pump making noises

Well I finally got my car back together after my stage 3 install. When I started it up the power steering pump is making some awful noises and when I stop the motor and look at the fluid reservour the fluid is very foamy. I did the bleed procedure of turning the wheel lock to lock 10 times before I started it and did it again once I started.

Any ideas to the problem? I am hoping it's just air.

probably just air in the system they tend to turn into squeakers when the car sits but I wouldn't be surprised knowing how temperamental the S4 likes to be time to time that your pump decided to crap out. but hopefully not!

just air leave the cap off when doing it

could be your power steering pump. mine had that problem and when i started it up, it just gushed out power steering fluid all over, replaced it with a new used one.

um no.

this happens when you pull the motor cause of no fluid. you have to leave your cap off, fill it, turn on the car and keep turning the wheel until noise goes away (always check fluid level)

not to thread jack...well i guess i am...but can we bypass the p/s cooler? mine fell,dragged,and created a hole,so now i need to replace it or see if i can bypass it...

a lot cheaper to just replace it than the rack or pump later

True

It's there for a reason, you can make one yourself. Find some piping that's the same size bend it in shape the other one is and hook up the hoses. Dont forget to make a bracket so you can bolt it back up.
