What kind of exhaust is this

My friend has a cat-back exhaust from an audi at his shop so i told him to email me parts numbers so i could post it and maybe someone could tell me what model audi it came off of.

One thing he did say was, there are some kinda of valves on the rear muffler portion of the exhaust.

I also wanted to see if i could gain any interest in the part.

looks like its for type 8E, B7 chassis... but that valve is throwin me off and i can't make out the rest of the part #

Could be for a RS4 which has the sport button, hence the valves.

i was under the impression that both the B6/B7 S4 and RS4 contain valved exhaust. Just like the R32. For open throttle and high rpm driving the valves open to allow better flow, but when crusing they close for quiet ride.

Looks like an rs4 muffler to me. The last picture is a little dark so i cant make out the whole thing, but from looking at just the muffler it looks like mine.

B7 S4 exhaust doesn't have valves on the mufflers. This is definitely an exhaust off an RS4.

Hate to tell you but mine does. I noticed it when I swapped out to my AWE. It's sitting in my shed right now and looks just like the picture with the vacuum hose and everything.

I was thinking it was an B6 S4 because it has single tips, the B7 S4 has dual tips plus the fact there round tips and not oval like the RS4. But still not sure that's why i put that hard to read part number there.

If it has single round tips than it is most likely from a B6 S4. Dual oval tips than it could be from any of the current S line-up (S4, S6, S8) since they all have similar looking exhausts. There is no mistaking the large single oval tips of the RS4. If you look into the oval tip of the RS4 exhaust, you'll see 2 outlet pipes from the muffler.

This exhaust does have 2 outlet pipes coming from the muffler.

B6 S4. You should've posted that pic in your first post and it would have ended the discussion. When I said 2 outlets for the RS4, I meant 2 straight outlets with a single large oval tip covering both pipes. The B7 S4 also has 2 straight outlets with a tip for each pipe (hence the quad tip). The pic above has 2 outlets merging into one with a tip (B7 S4/RS4 pipes don't merge).
