I don't know for sure, but I thought our transmissions were sealed. I am sure someone will correct me.

nope, not sealed, they just tell you that the fluid is "life time". it's good to change it though.

don't have any photos of the tranny, sorry.

    Re: need tiptronic picture please

To my knowledge, to fill the tranny, you need to have the car lifted, and running, you also need to have the car plugged to a vag com and at a temp of about 37 deg., thne you open the plug located on the underside of the tranny near or at the tranny oil pan. There are some other spots you can open here and there. I think the tranny and front drive and TC all use the same oil, but I may be wrong. There is also a myth that if you havenot changed the oil and filter in the auto trans by a certain milage, then you should not touch it, but I am not too sure how much I beleive in the old story. Good luck

I've seen trannys go bad shortly after changing the filter and fluid. But this was on older domestic cars.

    Re: need tiptronic picture please

It appears that the trans fluid, front differential, and center differential are all separate in the tip cars. See page 4, 8, & 9:

I've been searching around to see what besides the $OEM$ fluids will work, since this ZF manual only specs stuff I'm not familiar with (Burmah SAF AG4, Sturaco FM 1992 ???).

    No luck so far.

Yeah, the fluild flush is pretty easy, I just used one of those hand pumps that screws into a quart bottle.

I used Amsoil ATF. Didn't notice a huge change in performance, but the car only has 53K.
