I am getting ready to drive from Maryland to Texas. I have 68000 miles on the car. Should I consider changeing the fuel pump or filter. I already did the timing belt. I also have two coil packs in the trunk just in case.

    Thanks for your input

    Re: Question

I wouldn't worry about the fuel system

just bring coil packs, 10mm wrench, and other tools.

    Re: Question

I drove from Miami to Charlotte on a failing fuel filter a couple years ago (it was whining something awful). Took to the dealership while there and they fixed it under warranty. Point is, those parts will fail slowly as opposed to a coil pack. You should be fine.

    aka: ignition coil

They attach onto the sparkplug, providing the electric current need to make a spark.

    Bad coilpark=No spark=Misfire
