Need help with a car (volvo related)

Hey people, many of you have alot of knowledge on different vehicles, i need help with a 2001 S60 2.5 N/A, it has a horrible smell of gas inside the car after its driven. I checked for CEL, and it said that it could be a catalytic gone bad, cat was changed not too long ago. Also said that it could be that the vlave seals are bad, but if they were oil would be getting inside the cylinder chambber and white smoke would be coming out of the exhaust, which it doesnt happen.
I dont know where else to look for!!!
help please, my girls mother is getting high everytime she gets in her car. lol

no, she gets good gas milage.

On Toyotas that happens when the feul dampner is bad, although I know nothing about Volvos. If it does have one the fuel would leak out very slowly and would cause dampness inside a plasic cap that covers it but not a visible leak and no real affects on mileage.
