The OEM TCU is designed to work with certain torque ranges in certain gears. Also, you could possibly have a seal in the TC that has gone faulty in which case you will need to replace the TC. About $800 + labor. Your e-clutch packs could also be toast. There are several things that can come into play.

x2 ^^ Agreed. The extra power and the heavier weight definitely puts more strain on the Tranny. I wouldn't recommend to go WOT anymore if you burn your 4-5 clutch pack you'll need to rebuild it and at that point you might as well rebuild the full trans. I may have a TC and tip chip for sale shortly if you're interested pm me.

my stg 3 tip in drive will kinda hunt around, but in tip she is fine, my E cluch from 4 to 5 and 5 to 4 is getting a lil tired i noticed latly I am taken it easy on the car in that gear untill i get the founds for a spare trans( or buy a 6 speed car and start a new project I wish lol ) for a total build out to swap out. I run a 2bennet TQ and it is mint, have you looked for codes in your car? some times you get them with out a CEL. My software in my trans is GIAC with the recode done as well to hold first gear and it works well, untill noticed the E cluch issue starting I had no hunting issues , hope this help, any ? PM me

hey thanks that was a lot of help.

i vaged the car and i got no codes... i dont get it. It only happens in tip just at like around 140 which is almost red line for 4th gear, it will get stuck and upshift and downshift from 4-5 and 5-4 unless i ease up on the throttle then it will shift and i can push down and continue going. (this only happens in pump mode, on stock its fine)

Do flashed TCUs help to solve the issue, or is it a lost cause?

I'm pretty sure yes. Tcu also calculate engine load. It may takes bad calculations after stage3 especially after replacing MAF housing.
I would speak with Jason at JHMotorsport, they surely have something for you if you have a 2000 or 2001 tcu.
you'll have to waite if you have a 2002 tcu.

this sounds really weird, but I had the same problem, and it was the torque converter being stuck off. It was not locking up properly. I started doing some research and found it can have to do with the MAF if you don't have any codes. I replaced my MAF and it solved the problem for a little while until my TC and trans completely failed. But then I was able to get a fully built trans and TC and have not had any problems since.

how long have you been running this trans? Did they replace the clutch packs on all gears? Did you get valve body done as well? Last question. Are you running any type of TCU software? If not, you might be able to squeeze even more out of the trans.
