    After disconnecting my battery ..

    after i disconnected my battery today my car key will not lock/open the doors and the dashboard keeps reseting everytime i turn off the car.

    this happened to anyone?

    Happened to me.. i can't remember exactly but i recall putting my key in the ignition and pressing lock and unlock on the key. I believe the owners manual tells you how to re-pair the key. I don't know whats going on with the dash though.

    Ye, every time i start the car i sets my trip miles to 0, all my MPG and anything else that use to be on the screen gets put to 0 also.

    Maybe coding got changed. Hook up a vag-com and see where everything is at.

    Drive around and key will reprogram (learn the ecu) itself, I did some work on my car this weekend and the samething happened to me.

    Have you checked your connection to the battery? Could be loose.

    ya, maybe the connection is loose, when I disconnected my battery x100 times I never had that happened. Strange...subscribing for a solution.

    well i actually drove 100 miles today .. not sure whether thats a good distance for the ecu to get back to what it was but same problem and key isn't working still.

    I will probably contact the dealership tomorrow ..
