    A/C Unit Peeling...Help!

I've read a lot of threads out there on how to prevent/fix peeling issues regarding the interior of our B6 A4's, but most of them have been aimed at window/light switches or center console. My specific problem is with the A/C module.

I don't think painting them will fix it because I won't be able to see the markings on the buttons. Could these buttons be swapped if I were to get a used A/C module?

I beleive the buttons are intergral to the unit itself and it isn't cheap. I had mine relaced under warranty, I think it was around $700 bucks plus labor.
