    Re: cheap door blades...

Interesting. If you look at the feedback, it looks like a lot of people received fiberglass products with cracks or other flaws. You can't tell if they were commenting on the blades or not, but if they have crappy fiberglass technique in general, it might be worth it to wait for the AZ member who is going to be selling some soon.

I've read nothing but negative reviews on EBAY door blades that are fiber glass. Do not buy.

    Re: cheap door blades...

Not hating on anyone, but IMHO the blades are nice but should be waaay down the list of mods with anyone who has a non S4/USP A4 (which obviously already have them).
I'll do blades once I have 300+ ponies at the wheels and all the supporting turning and stopping bits to consider my car a real performance vehicle...

    Usp Dont have s4 blades.

And your opinion makes no sense. So you need 300 "ponies" to have a exterior styling mod?

Man sorry. I'm not into speed or anything. I just like the way it look on the car. You also live in the Tri-State you know the cops on our "neighborhood" are pretty pick. Anything over 70Miles Hours they are on your tail. And not just that the roads around here are pretty bad also. But thanks for you option.

Hey we need to setup a Northeast meet up on the summer.

    Re: cheap door blades...

buy nice or buy twice: you'll buy them and you'll see that they "can" fit.. then you'll realize all the drilling and gluing involved to "fit" them... then you'll sell them for less than you paid... then you'll shell out and buy oem.. then you'll regret not doing so in the first place.

... then you'll offer your bitter advice to a would-be buyer

    you're welcome.

it makes plenty of sense. he's saying that in his opinion it's silly to dress a car up as a higher-performance model when it's no where close in terms of performance.

i took the same route, and have been very happy thus far. not to mention, if you're going to look good and be slow - you better be looking DAMN good. (see heral ravi and darrick for specific pointers in this department)

    Re: cheap door blades...

I would stay away from these. A friend of mine bought these about a year ago and they weren't direct fitment. We spent about half a Saturday modifying them to "make" them fit and they still didn't look quite right. A week later he took his A4 through a car wash and the driver side front door blade came off and was damaged as his back wheel went over it.

My advice, buy OEM. ECS Tuning had a group buy and that is where I ordered mine from ($310, with free shipping). I haven't got them yet since I was one of the later ones to sign up. I'd keep checking with ECS Tuning and see if they have another group buy this Spring or Purems has them for $359 on their website, but no free shipping.

Some people are more "show" over "go". I'm one of those and I don't see anything wrong with that. I spend enough $ just keeping my stock 1.8t running correctly Just my 2 cents.

    Re: cheap door blades...

I think everyone in that GB is still waiting to get them since ECS is still waiting for the shipment to show up. That is the only bad thing about GB's, having to wait longer to get the product.

    Re: cheap door blades...

well dan i see what youre tallking bout, but lets take me for example. when my car was modded to a good extent FMIC, full suspension, intake, TIP, Test pipe, full exhuast, rims, blah blah blah blah, it was fast, but i wanted to make it look good, add a little pep and make a all together package.

now my route has changed ;-D but for some reason who doesnt care about the performance as much and just wants it to make it look good i see no problem. look at beeeesix's car... it has no performance besides a intercooler and a 1+ chip... but it looks good.

    just my .02
