New to the Audi TT World

Hello everyone from sunny Florida. I recently bought a 2004 Audi TT S-Line 3.2 quattro with the 6 speed DSG transmission. I was told that this Papaya colored TT was somewhat rare and hard to find. I love the color and pictures truly do it no justice. I researched it and it was hard to find another for sale in the U.S., but how rare I’m not really sure. Anybody out there know how many like this were made? I absolutely love the car and would like to get to know others who admire their rides the same way. It was a very low mileage TT (37,000 miles), and absolutely no wear-n-tear on it. I'm mechanically inclined, and would like to ping the forum for advice and where to get information, parts, upgrades down the road. I'm not sure if I can post pictures yet, so once I figure that out I'll post some pic's.

Sorry to say that VAGparts.com went out of business as of last week. It's sad news as I have bought several parts from them! They will be missed!

The AW TT forum http://forums.audiworld.com/tt is very active. You can get exceptional tech info, and their FAQs section is very good.

Store your pics online at www.fotki.com or www.photobucket.com. Once stored, use the IMG link format to show them here.

2004 MkI TT's are generally pretty sorted out. The only issue you might have is the instrument cluster has a tendency on early models to get cranky. And the FCM (fan control module) is another source of irritation that carries over to the 3.2 from the 1.8T. Again, see the AW Forums for the best tech advice.

TT drivers meet annually at TT-East (or -West, or -Central) w/o geographic limitation. There are enough of us to have 3 large national events. SNowshe for TT-E this year, and a 3-day drive through Yellowstone and the far west for TT-W this year. Cherokee Chapter ACNA (Georgia, right north of you) has begun planning the annual Quattro de Mayo, helpd on the 1st weekend in May. Papaya is indeed rare, more so on a 3.2. Nice!

Marty-Mar, your RS4 is the cleanest in town, and might be the only one in South Tampa as far as I know. Thanks for introducing me to the Audi world, could not be happier. As for racing, let me go find my old Prelude, it has atleast one more good race left in her...remember the "Crosstown" :-)

Have a friend who runs a black 3.2 under the MesserschmiTT banner using the BIG HPA kit. It's like a well-behaved Porsche 930 w/o the bad habits!

01 225Q. Looked everywhere for an aviator 6spd. Found it and not letting go in the forseeable future. The avatar is a clone of the one I bought. I haven't had a chance to take any pics of mine yet.
