Sharp Ticking is it Injectors?

I read in another forum about ticking in top of motor being cam rockers. I thought when i first heard the sharp and fast ticking it was the injectors, its actually louder than i would expect. Please tell me its not rockers, i'm just getting plumb paranoid now.

I think these V-8's have a (very) mechanical sound, atleast mine has since new...

John, the ticking sound that you hear is par for the course. My B6 S4 did it and my 2008 Rs4 does it even louder. Think of it as music to your ears.

Thanks for the conformation. The first week I was a bit rough on her, if she was going to break something serious it would have happened then. Now once the pack is in i'll drive "normal". As far as be paranoid as a matter of fact everyone is out to get me. I am currently looking at my car on the video surveillance system i have surrounding the compound with about 2000watts of lighting. No really i'm not kidding in all seriousness i do.
